Anna Watt is the Transport Research Lead at Transport for West Midlands, part of the West Midlands Combined Authority. Anna leads a team of performance analysts, researchers, modellers and GIS analysts to provide insight into the transport network, from well curated, managed and engineered data. From understanding how many people are using our ticketing system, how busy our highways are, with what users, to ingesting 10 million sensor based records a day, the team deploy an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud hosted serverless environment, cost engineered to be supportable on public sector finances. The team are looking ahead to deploying new technologies to improve and speed up our ability to run strategic transport models to advance our digital twin strategy through to removing manual handling of performance reporting data.
