Transport

Venue Selection

The NEC is easily accessible by public transport. It's a short walk from Birmingham International Railway Station, which has frequent services from Birmingham New Street and other major cities. Additionally, numerous local and national bus and coach services, including National Express and Megabus, serve Birmingham Airport, from which the NEC can be reached via a free air-rail link.

Water Bottles

Accessibility

At last year’s event, attendees collectively saved over 1,000 single-use water bottles by actively utilising the dedicated water refill stations located throughout the exhibition hall, demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainability and conscious event participation. This small but significant action highlights the positive impact of thoughtful on-site initiatives and the growing awareness around reducing plastic waste within the events industry.

Carpet

Transportation

As exhibition aisle carpet is not recyclable, we made the decision to remove all aisle carpeting at 2023's event—eliminating unnecessary waste and significantly reducing our environmental impact. This initiative formed part of a broader commitment to adopting more sustainable practices across all areas of event delivery, while also encouraging exhibitors and attendees to consider the long-term environmental effects of temporary build materials.

Badges and Lanyards

Accommodation

Our event badges are completely plastic-free, and the lanyards are 100% reusable—collected from attendees upon exit to support ongoing sustainability efforts and minimise event waste. By eliminating plastic from these high-volume items and encouraging responsible return practices, we’re able to reduce our environmental footprint while promoting a more circular approach to event materials and design.

Contractors

Eco-friendly

All of our contractors are carefully selected based on their proven commitment to sustainability and the innovative environmental practices embedded in their operations. We prioritise working with partners who actively align with our values, demonstrate measurable progress in reducing their ecological footprint and continually invest in greener technologies and responsible resource management.

Electric Car Charging

We provide a calm, inclusive space away from the hustle and bustle of the main show floor, thoughtfully designed to offer a comfortable environment for all attendees, including a dedicated area to support the needs of neurodiverse individuals.
