At last year’s event, attendees collectively saved over 1,000 single-use water bottles by actively utilising the dedicated water refill stations located throughout the exhibition hall, demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainability and conscious event participation. This small but significant action highlights the positive impact of thoughtful on-site initiatives and the growing awareness around reducing plastic waste within the events industry.
As exhibition aisle carpet is not recyclable, we made the decision to remove all aisle carpeting at 2023's event—eliminating unnecessary waste and significantly reducing our environmental impact. This initiative formed part of a broader commitment to adopting more sustainable practices across all areas of event delivery, while also encouraging exhibitors and attendees to consider the long-term environmental effects of temporary build materials.
Our event badges are completely plastic-free, and the lanyards are 100% reusable—collected from attendees upon exit to support ongoing sustainability efforts and minimise event waste. By eliminating plastic from these high-volume items and encouraging responsible return practices, we’re able to reduce our environmental footprint while promoting a more circular approach to event materials and design.
