Andrew Cook, Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director for Growth, Highways & Infrastructure, Suffolk County Council / ADEPT

Andrew is currently Deputy Chief Executive at Suffolk County Council and the organisations lead for Devolution,  as well as Vice President of ADEPT. He joined the authority as their Executive Director of Growth, Highways and Infrastructure in 2022 and is responsible for Highways, Transport, Waste, Planning, Economy and Housing as well as being the authority’s lead on Climate Change and the Environment. Before joining Suffolk County Council, Andrew held a range of Place based director and executive director roles with more than 20 years of local authority experience, and has significant expertise in the management of public/private partnership contracts and the delivery of major infrastructure projects. Originally a planner by professional background, he has experience of all aspects of the planning process and has also held chief planning roles in local authority. He is passionate about the experience of residents and the positive impact that local government can facilitate, particularly in relation to infrastructure delivery, place making, environmental impact, and enabling our communities.
