Morag Cooper works as a Project Officer in EV Management within the Climate Change & Energy Team at the Highland Council in the North of Scotland. With a background in Civil Engineering (Land Surveying) and after a 15-year career in IT, she switched back to Engineering, graduating from the University of the Highlands with a first-class Honours Degree in Mechanical & Energy Engineering and is currently in the final stages of a PhD on assessing the application of the levelised cost of energy to marine renewables. Her interests lie in the development and application of sustainable infrastructure, including transport, which included working on the HITRANS let Sustainable Aviation Test Centre project for 2 years. She has a particular focus of interest on remote and rural communities. At EVCharge Live UK 2026, Morag will share her insight on the challenges and opportunities of EV infrastructure development and how aligning local and national priorities can speed up its rollout. She is dedicated to accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation systems and shaping a greener future for communities in the Highland region and beyond.
