Gemma Buckley is General Counsel and Chief Corporate Officer at Solarport, the UK's leading solar infrastructure company, specialising in the design, production and distribution of high-quality solar mounting systems and carports. She leads the company's Legal, People and ESG teams, and recently helped guide Solarport to become the first solar mounting systems and carports specialist to achieve B Corp Certification, setting a new standard for the sector. Gemma's solar journey began in early 2013, when she joined a leading EPC as Legal Counsel during the early days of ground mount solar in the UK. She then spent 9 years as a senior lawyer at a FTSE 100 buisness, where she became part of the leadership team and co-chaired the gender diversity network. As a mother, Gemma has experienced first-hand the barriers women face in balancing career progression with caring responsibilities, and she is passionate about creating systemic change. At Solarport she launched the Women's Forum and champions the company's strong ESG focus. She is committed to pioneering progressive workplace practices and building inclusive envionments where diverse talent can thrive in the renewable energy sector.
