Dr. Vincent Chian is a distinguished educator and thought leader, whose contributions to international education have transformed Fairview International School into a model of excellence. With over 14 years of experience in the field, he currently serves as the Principal of Fairview International School Malaysia and the Provost of University College Fairview. His journey from psychiatry to education underscores his deep commitment to holistic development, ensuring that students are prepared not just for another exam, but to succeed at life. A medical graduate from the University of Manchester and a former Psychiatry Registrar, Dr. Chian transitioned into education in 2009, driven by a desire to make a lasting impact on future generations. His medical background, particularly in psychiatry, has been instrumental in shaping his approach to education. At Fairview, he drives the development of proactive pastoral programs, recognizing that wellbeing should be a proactive target rather than the reactive stance of mental health systems. Under his leadership, Fairview International School has earned the distinction of being the top IB school in Malaysia and a top 100 IB school in the world (ib-schools.com) for four consecutive years (2020-2023). He introduced the Toolbox skill development program, which won the "Best Teaching and Learning Award" at the International School Awards in 2021, exemplifying his innovative approach to education.  Dr. Chian’s influence extends beyond Fairview. He is an EO Accelerator coach, regularly consults for Eduspaze, and is a sought-after speaker at educational conferences. He has spoken over 10 EduTech Asia conferences, showcasing his expertise in educational technology, and at the last 6 KSI Education Summits in Malaysia, where he has shared his insights on the evolving landscape of education. In addition to his leadership roles, Dr. Chian is a prolific writer, sharing his thoughts on education through his LinkedIn blog, "Learning with a Purpose."
