Ms. Uma Muthusamy, M.Sc., Certified ESG Innovator, is a Senior Lecturer at INTI International College Subang and the Co-Chair of the INTI ESG Committee. With a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, she specializes in Environmental Studies and Sociology, embedding sustainability and ESG principles at the core of her teaching and practice. A passionate advocate of experiential and interdisciplinary learning, Ms. Uma actively mentors students on community-based projects that address real-world environmental and social challenges. Her notable initiatives include tree planting and carbon footprint campaigns with Verdant Solar, used cooking oil recycling with Fats Hopes Energy, mangrove replanting efforts, and collaborations with WWF Malaysia for Save Our Sea and Earth Hour awareness campaigns. Her mentorship led the student team Snouts and Stripes to win the WWF Eco Champion Award 2024 for their work on tapir conservation. Ms. Uma has been recognized with the INTI Teaching Excellence Awards in 2022 and 2023 and the Outstanding Employee Award 2022. She also presented at the INTI-UH Symposium 2024, where she shared her expertise on fostering lifelong learning for a sustainable future. In addition, she actively shares her teaching pedagogies with colleagues through internal training and sharing sessions. Her work continues to inspire students and colleagues alike, reflecting her deep commitment to integrating sustainability into education.
