John Hendrickse is an accomplished IB and Ontario Certified Educator with a Professional Masters in Education. With a lifelong passion for teaching, he has dedicated himself to continually improving his educational practice. With over six years of experience leading Technology, Design, and Innovation at schools, John has honed his skills in teaching students and creating safe environments that foster creativity. He takes pride in cultivating a culture of growth, positivity, and innovation. John firmly believes that educators have the responsibility to instill confidence, impart knowledge and skills, and equip students with strategies for success in all areas of life. In the classroom and the communities he supports, John embodies this mindset, employing a positive and hardworking approach that has resulted in improved self-esteem and academic abilities among his students. In his current role as the Head of Primary Technology & Innovation Coach, John plays a vital role in supporting his team members in building a collaborative, respectful, and creative school community. He champions the integration of technology, STEM, and innovative pedagogies, drawing on his extensive knowledge of technology integration theories. John is adept at leading workshops for parents and teachers, co-teaching technology lessons, researching emerging technologies, co-planning innovative initiatives, and organizing grade-level events. His success as a coach can be attributed to his emphasis on building a positive culture, setting clear goals, and fostering collaboration to promote creativity and innovation.
