The Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) is a teacher organization initiated in 2000 as Indonesian Teachers' Club under the leadership of Ahmad Rizali and it was officially incorporated on November 26 2009 and approved by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights with Decree Number AHU-125.AH. 01.06 of 2009 with General Chairperson Satria Dharma and Secretary General Muhammad Ihsan from East Java and Indra Djati Sidi from West Java as Chair of the Board of Trustees.

The management for 2021-2026 is registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights IGI with a decree number: AHU-0000332.AH.01.08 Year 2021 with General Chairperson Danang Hidayatullah from DKI Jakarta.

Since obtaining official approval from the government as a teacher organization, IGI has continued to fully focus on improving teacher competence. For IGI, the bottom line of all educational issues in Indonesia lies in the low competence of Indonesian teachers, both in terms of professional competence (pedagogical competence), social competence, and personal competence.

 IGI Management Vision for the 2021-2026 period:

"Establishing IGI as a world-class professional organization that is adaptive, innovative and progressive and can synergize with other professional teacher organizations"

IGI now provides an active training channel that helps teachers become more competent in the spirit of sharing and growing together. With nearly 200,000 members, IGI will significantly contribute to raising teacher quality and national education standards in general.
