Wassamon Phusakulkajorn received the B.Sc. degree (First Class Honour) in mathematics from the Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, and the Ph.D. degree in railway engineering from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.

Currently, Dr. Phusakulkajorn is a researcher at the Rail and Modern Transports Research Group, National Metal and Material Technology Center (MTEC), Thailand. Her work focuses on the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, data fusion, and predictive analytics to the condition monitoring and maintenance of railway infrastructure and machinery. She has authored 7 journal articles, 10 conference papers, and 2 book chapters.

Dr. Phusakulkajorn is the lead author of the award-winning review paper “Artificial Intelligence in Railway Infrastructure: Current Research, Challenges, and Future Opportunities,” published in Intelligent Transportation Infrastructure (2023), which received the Best Paper Award in 2024. She has also been shortlisted for the prestigious TRA VISIONS Award—one of Europe’s most prominent transport research and innovation awards—recognising outstanding early-career researchers with high-impact contributions to the future of mobility. In addition, she is a HOPE Fellow, selected to participate in the 17th HOPE Meeting with Nobel Laureates organised by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
