Uday Prasad Singh, Principal Chief Project Manager, National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd

Mr. Uday P. Singh was graduated in Civil Engineering from Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, Muzaffarpur and completed Master of Engineering in Transportation Engineering from University of Roorkee now IIT Roorkee. Mr. Singh started his professional carrier as Assistant Director in Central Water Commission in 1995 and later on joined prestigious Indian Railway Services of Engineers of 1996 batch. He worked as Assistant Divisional Engineer under Jabalpur Division and Divisional Engineer, Solapur Division and was responsible for various activities related with maintenance of Railway Track, Bridges and Structures. In December 2004, He moved to Mumbai Division of Central Railway and entrusted responsibilities of maintenance of track, bridges and structure of CSMT Panvel Harbour line and Vasai Diva Section. While working as Senior Divisional Engineer, Mumbai, he shown exemplary leadership in restoration of track in record time, when a large portion of track was washed out during floods of 26th July, 2005. For this extraordinary contribution, he was selected by Ministry of Railway for National Award for Outstanding Service. Demolition of old Masjid Railway Station and 114 years old ROB in record time of 48 hrs mega block and construction of 7th line between CST- Sandhurst Road was also completed under his leadership as Deputy Chief Engineer Construction Central Railway. He always takes pride in fulfilling responsibilities of maintenance of suburban section of Mumbai Division which transports 40 lakhs commuters per day on its system, while working for Mumbai Division of Central Railway. Mr. Singh has undergone various training programs related with High Speed Railway, Heavy Haul Train Operations, Managements and tunnelling technology in Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Europe. After the constitution of National High Speed Rail Corporation in 2016, He was appointed as first Chief Project Manager of the ambitious Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project. The entire Field Survey, FLS, Aerial LiDAR and Geotechnical Investigation between Mumbai- Ahmedabad have been completed under his supervision. He completed Environmental Clearances and Land Acquisition issues of the Project in State of Maharashtra. Mr. Singh is currently in-charge of Construction of underground High Speed railway station at BKC which is integrated with 95m high commercial building over it, 21.1 km long suburban undersea tunnel with inner diameter of 12.1m and open web steel bridges of various spans for the project.
