Neil Voce – Specialist in Voice Evacuation & Public Address Systems
Business Development Director, Transport Division – Ambient System Neil Voce has built a distinguished career in voice evacuation and public address (PAVA) systems, with over three decades of experience delivering critical safety infrastructure across transport, stadia, office and public venues both in the UK and internationally. Following the Taylor Report in the late 1980s, Neil was closely involved in upgrading audio safety systems for several major UK football stadiums, including Millwall, Stoke City, Derby County, Brighton & Hove Albion, and more recently, Sunderland Football Club. His work also extended to one of the world’s largest PAVA projects at the time—the O2 Arena in London, as well as working extensively on Canary Wharf towers and designing the original system at Legoland Windsor. In the transport sector, Neil has contributed to many landmark projects, including London’s King’s Cross, Victoria, and St Pancras stations, as well as a complete upgrade for over 120 stations on the First Great Western network. His international portfolio includes major metro and railway systems such as the Delhi Metro (multiple lines), Nagpur Metro, Malaysia’s MRT2 and LRT lines, and airports including Heathrow (Terminals 3 and 4), Gatwick, and several across India. Currently, Neil is working on multiple large-scale rail projects: a Framework Agreement for Swedish Rail covering numerous stations across southern Sweden, the Abu Qir rail system into Alexandria, Egypt, Delhi Metro Line 2, and the Manila Metro. These projects involve collaboration with leading global contractors including Hitachi, Alstom, Heinrich, and Siemens. Neil has also played a key role in shaping the industry itself. He has contributed to the development of many of the European and global standards that underpin modern voice evacuation systems. He is a Fellow and recent Chair of the Institute of Sound, Communications and Video Engineers (ISCVE). He was awarded the Freedom of the City of London around two decades ago for recognition of his work on high-rise city building evacuation systems. Previous employers include Millbank Electronics and ASL. He is currently Business Development Director for the Transport Division at Ambient System, where he continues to lead and support world-class solutions in public safety audio.
