Anshul Gupta did Master of Engineering in Computer
and Information Sciences (Artificial Intelligence being
specialization), from India’s leading institute - Indian Institute of
Sciences, Bangalore in 1986. He has also done Post Graduate course
in public Policy on Integrated Multi Modal Transport System from
MDI, Gurgaon and George Mason University, Virginia.
He has worked for 40 years with Indian Railways and its PSUs
so fa in Engineering Services Cadre IRSSE. He did pioneer works in
Modernization of Railway Signalling and Telecom Systems; He is
pioneer in the Digitalization of Train Control and Command Systems
of Indian Railways. He played a pivotal role in the approval of
TCAS(Kavach) project over Indian Railways in 2020. Later on he
spearheaded the successful development of AI powered Intrusion
Detection System, OT Cyber Security and also pursued reintroduction
of BLT & Tunnel Communication in Tunnels etc., while working as
GM NF Railway. He was also a Core Committee member for the
design and delivery of National Knowledge Network and National
Optical Fiber Network.
He was instrumental in expediting construction of national
projects of state Capital rail connectivity in NE states during his tenure
as General Manager NF Railway as well as GM (Con) NFR, wherein
he introduced modern survey and construction practices enabling
faster execution of nearly 500 Rkms of new railway lines in the most
difficult terrains of India in the states of Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim
and Arunachal Pradesh. Using state of the art AI powered Drone based
location survey for construction of new rail lines upto Tawang,
Nathula, Walong, Gelephu (Bhutan) was also completed. using state
of art technologies etc and Development and Adoption of AI/ ML
powered Health monitoring, Predictive Maintenance and Digital Twin
system on Indian Railways. He is now working on OT Cyber Secured
critical infrastructure as well as Artificial Intelligence powered
Quantum technologies as well as creating Digital Twin for an efficient
net generation Railway stsem and its operations.
In India he is also the Secretary of Institution of Railway Signal
Engineers (Association), working in the field of introducing system of
competence development and competence assessment of executives
working with Indian Railways in the area of modern control and
command Signalling & safety systems. He is working closely for the
Govt of India’s flagship program of NQM to not only set up a
Quantum Lab, but also implement a few use cases on Railways using
Quantum technologies like Quantum Secured high Capacity Fiber
links carrying strategic data, and Optimization of Freight Logistics for
Indian Railways using Digital Twins
