Dr. Maite Ibarretxe is a Sustainability&Innovation Executive, Academic and Consultant, leading the co- creation of strategies driving sustainable solutions powered by climate finance, and embedding sustainability and innovation into the organisations’ DNA. She achieves that through the  creation of Labs, collaborative platforms that orchestrate teams, ideas and resources to create the necessary leverage to maximise returns.
Maite's career spans the private, public, academic and non-profit sectors and has a track record at Q8-Kuwait Petroleum, EIT-Climate-KIC, C&A, International Water Association, Embassy of Peru and  Abengoa-Schneider Electric, sharping strategies that unite environmental reposibility with social impacrt and economic value.

Beside her corporate work, Maite is a Professor of Sustainable Business and Chair Examination Board at UIBS Amsterdam and Visiting Professor at University MONACO and ITESO Jesuit University Mexico. As Managing Partner at IBARRETXE Associates Advisory, she helps organisations to unlock the full potential of sustainability, she also serves as Board Trustee at Desert Leaves Foundation and Social Innovation Academy.

Being a regular Speaker at Lubricant Expo Düsseldorf, Base Conference, London and Arab Labs, her research has been presented across Europe, Latin-America and Middle East. She is Internationally recognized for creating The Leverage Wheel, a framework grounded on Excellence, Trust and Innvoation, that empowers leaders to embed sustainability into their DNA while fostering entrepreneurial growth and has been named to Top 100 Power List 2025 at Forttuna Global Magazine UAE and at The Analytical Scientist Journal UK, US.
