David Cuesta is a seasoned rail sector professional with a career spanning since 2010. Beginning as an engineer at ADIF, he specialised in software systems for railway operations, notably in planning and train management. Transitioning to the ERTMS Users Group in Brussels in 2017, David became a leading expert in analysing and shaping ERTMS technical specifications, actively participating and chairing European working groups. With a PhD in Computer Science and a degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering, he brings a formidable academic background to his work. In July 2023, David assumed a pivotal role at the European Union Agency for Railways, joining the ERTMS Unit as responsible for the evolution of the Control Command and Signalling Technical Specification for Interoperability (CCS TSI), where he continues to drive innovation and standards in rail technology.
