Beachy Bookkeeping

Tracey Rubens, Founder, Beachy Bookkeeping

Tracey is the founder of Beachy Bookkeeping, an award‑winning bookkeeper, mentor, and long‑time advocate for small business success. With more than 35 years of experience across corporate management accounting, small business ownership, and two successful bookkeeping practices, she brings a rare blend of technical expertise, commercial insight, and lived experience to the bookkeeping profession. Tracey began her career in corporate management accounting, developing deep capability in financial analysis, budgeting, and operational reporting before moving into small business ownership as a café operator in the early 2000s. That hands‑on experience shaped her practical, jargon‑free approach and ignited her passion for helping small business owners understand their numbers. She went on to build, scale, and eventually sell a large Brisbane‑based bookkeeping practice before launching Beachy Bookkeeping on the Sunshine Coast, where she now supports business owners and bookkeepers with clarity, confidence, and a signature coastal calm. Tracey is a two‑time Bookkeeper of the Year, a Xero Ambassador, and a proud member of XPAC, where she contributes to shaping the future of the bookkeeping and small business ecosystem. She also serves on the BAS Agent Advisory Group, providing industry insight and championing the needs of bookkeepers across the country and is an enthusiastic small business mentor for the Queensland Government Mentoring 4 Growth program. Known for her warm communication style, her love of automation, and her commitment to building scalable, saleable bookkeeping practices, Tracey now mentors bookkeepers, supports industry events, and creates resources that make numbers feel simple, human, and empowering.
