Dr. Sander van Deventer is a physician-scientist, drug developer, and venture capitalist, recognized for paradigm-shifting contributions to modern medicine and biotechnology. Scientific and Drug Development Achievements:Remicade (infliximab): Played a critical role in the development of Remicade, the first commercial monoclonal antibody for autoimmune diseases, fundamentally changing the treatment of Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and related conditions. • Glybera: Co-founded Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics (now uniQure), leading the development of Glybera, the first gene therapy to receive market authorization in the Western world, marking a breakthrough for gene therapy as a clinical and commercial reality. • Hemgenix and AMT-130: Drove the development of Hemgenix (AAV5-FIX) for hemophilia B, which achieved FDA priority review and market authorization, representing a major advance in gene therapy for rare diseases. Designed and developed AMT-130, which is in late-stage development for the treatrment of Huntington's disease.  • VectorY Therapeutics: Co-founded VectorY Therapeutics in 2020. VectorY is developing next-generation gene therapies for neurodegenerative diseases using innovative vectorized antibody and protein degrader technologies. • Other Programs: Advanced gene therapies for acute intermittent porphyria, Fabry and lysosomal storage disorders. Served as CEO of Dezima, that developed obicetrapib, anovel CETP inhibitor, which was acquired by Amgen in one of Europe’s largest biotech exits. Venture Capital and Leadership:Forbion Capital Partners: Co-founder and Operating Partner at Forbion, a leading European life sciences venture capital firm. Instrumental in founding and growing multiple biotech companies, guiding investments from seed to exit, and serving on the boards and scientific advisory boards of numerous private and public companies. • Company Building: Founded and led several biotech companies, including uniQure, Dezima, and VectorY, demonstrating a unique ability to translate scientific breakthroughs into successful commercial ventures. • Academic Leadership: Former professor at the Amsterdam Academic Medical Center and Leiden University, author of over 600 peer-reviewed papers and 80 book chapters, organizer of international scientific conferences, and supervisor of more than 40 PhD students.
