Mariana Matus | CEO and Cofounder

Dr. Mariana Matus is CEO and Cofounder of Biobot Analytics. She is a computational biologist and pioneered the science of wastewater epidemiology during her doctoral studies at MIT. Mariana is a Henry Crown Fellow in the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute. She has received awards recognizing her leadership in science and entrepreneurship, including being named to the TIME100 Next list, recognition by Inc. Magazine in 2026 as an Innovator in the AI & Data industry, and inclusion on the Boston Globe's Tech Power Players list. She holds a bachelor's degree in genomics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a master's degree in biotechnology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and a PhD in computational and systems biology from MIT.
