World Teleport Association (WTA)

Randall Barney is Executive Director of the World Teleport Association (WTA), the leading global trade association representing the satellite communications and teleport industry. He oversees the Association's strategic direction, membership growth, industry engagement, events, and certification programmes, working with teleport operators, satellite companies, service providers, and technology partners worldwide.

He has nearly two decades of experience with WTA, having joined the organisation in 2006 as Director of Certification & Membership before serving as Deputy Executive Director and being appointed Executive Director in 2025. Throughout his tenure, he has led membership development, business development, conference planning, industry communications, certification programmes, and stakeholder engagement, while regularly moderating industry panels and conducting executive interviews with leaders across the global satellite and telecommunications sector.

Alongside his role at WTA, Randall has managed projects for several international industry organisations, including the Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) and the Intelligent Community Forum. He is also Co-Owner of Intelligent Communities Group, supporting the management of international trade associations through membership programmes, event organisation, communications, and digital engagement.

Earlier in his career, Randall held training, quality assurance, and operational management roles at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), AAA, Briazz, and Bruegger's Bagels, developing expertise in operations, customer engagement, and organisational management.

Randall studied Business at Borough of Manhattan Community College and Communications at Bellevue Community College. His experience combines association leadership, membership development, event management, industry communications, and stakeholder engagement, supporting collaboration across the global satellite and telecommunications ecosystem.
