Khalid Khan is a technology and telecommunications executive with more than 35 years of experience spanning ICT, telecoms, media, policy and regulation, corporate strategy, and technology entrepreneurship.
He is the Founder and Chairman of Smart Forum, previously known as the Central Asian Cellular Forum, where his work focuses on AI applications for social good, ICT and telecom policy, regulatory development, human capital, and the development of digital and mobile ecosystems. He is also Chief Executive of Purepush, a mobile application development and incubation initiative supporting technology entrepreneurs and emerging talent.
Khalid has a longstanding association with PhoneWorld Magazine, having served as its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, with responsibility for editorial policy, business direction, and corporate oversight. Earlier, he spent nearly two decades with Interactive Group in management roles and subsequently served on its Board of Advisors, advising on telecom business growth, mobile applications, and value-added services.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Dawood College of Engineering & Technology and MBAs in Marketing and Finance from Preston University. His expertise spans ICT and telecom policy, AI, mobile ecosystems, corporate strategy, project management, and technology business development.
