Juan Vela is Vice President of Product Marketing at Plume, where he leads product marketing for the company’s platform and product portfolio. He brings more than 25 years of experience across broadband networking, enterprise technology, SaaS, cloud and networking hardware and software.

Prior to joining Plume, Juan held senior product marketing and go-to-market leadership roles at Cisco. As Vice President of Product Marketing & Market Strategy, he led positioning and go-to-market alignment across Cisco’s $30 billion-plus networking portfolio, working across multiple business units and audiences spanning service providers, enterprise networking, data centres and security. He previously led product marketing and market strategy at Cisco Meraki.

Juan spent more than nine years at Calix, where he led product and field marketing initiatives for the broadband market. His work included launching Calix Cloud, the company’s first SaaS offering, developing new market opportunities and building go-to-market and partner ecosystem programmes.

Earlier in his career, Juan held product marketing and strategy roles at Occam Networks and Allied Telesis, following technical positions in network and sales engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

His expertise spans product marketing, go-to-market strategy, positioning and messaging, broadband and enterprise networking, SaaS, cloud platforms and market growth strategy.
