Torsten Thiele is an international expert in ocean finance, drawing on over 25 years experience in project and infrastructure finance with leading financial institutions and a decade of ocean research and practice. As Senior Advisor, Blue Finance, Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance he promotes sustainable investment in ocean solutions. Recent publications address high seas finance, climate policy, coastal infrastructure, nature-based solutions and innovative ocean governance. He is an active lecturer and conference speaker. Torsten Thiele holds degrees from the universities of Cambridge, Bonn and Harvard and is an Honorary Fellow at Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK.
