UNH Interoperability Labs

Carter Snay, Datacenter Technologies Lead, UNH Interoperability Labs

Carter Snay is the leader of the Datacenter group at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Labs (UNH-IOL), where they bridge the gap between high-performance data infrastructure and decentralized systems. Carter leads the NVMe® Interoperability and Compliance efforts at UNH-IOL, acting as the primary architect for the program’s test plans. In this role, they interface directly with the NVM Express organization to orchestrate and push the test program forward, ensuring that emerging storage technologies meet the industry’s highest standards for conformance and reliability. By managing the evolution of these compliance suites, Carter ensures the global storage ecosystem remains synchronized through every generational shift in NVMe technology. He currently serves as a co-chair on the NVMe Marketing Working Group, where he leverages his technical background to translate storage standards into industry insights, driving the global adoption and visibility of NVM Express technologies. Beyond their work with NVMe and OCP storage standards, Carter is a leader in the regional blockchain ecosystem, serving on the New Hampshire Blockchain Council. At the UNH-IOL, they spearhead pioneering initiatives in Ethereum Smart Contract Auditing, ensuring that blockchain-native legal entities (DAOs) and digital assets meet the rigorous security and interoperability standards required for real-world adoption. Their work is instrumental in architecting New Hampshire’s first blockchain-native state registries, aligning technical code with legislative compliance.
