René Hoet is working for over 25 years in Biotech and Pharma Industry focusing on Antibody Research and development. Since Sept. 2025 Rene Hoet is working as consultant (Snr. Scientific Advisor) at Nona Biosciences and Enpicom. From April 1 2022 till Febr. 2025 René worked as Chief Innovation Officer at FairJourney Biologics in Porto, Portugal on validation & implementation of new innovative antibody discovery and optimization technologies. From April 2021 till February 2022 Rene worked as Chief Scientific Officer for Montis Biosciences BV (Belgium) to develop the next generation of immunotherapy targeting with antibodies the interface between Tumor endothelial Cells and Perivascular Macrophage.. Prior to this he worked as Chief Scientific Officer for Imcheck Therapeutics, France (acquired by Ipsen)(Oct 2018- April 2021) and moved ICT01 an antibody to BTN3A1, the first activating gammadelta T cell mAb, from preclinical stage into the clinic (now in Phase III). From 2010-2018 Rene worked for Bayer AG as Vice President Biologics Research (Germany). His group was responsible for Antibody Discovery and Optimization for all therapeutic areas in Bayer and during this period 7 antibodies from Bayer´s internal pipeline entered into the clinic. Between 2008-2010 Rene worked at Genmab as Sr. Director Research and was heading up Product Related Research, Scientific Communication & Translational Research. His team was driving new Antibody Discovery Programs and was also actively supporting Clinical Antibody Programs. From 1997-2008 Rene had various positions at Dyax and became V.P. Research and Operational Manager of Dyax sa. Rene was driving internal Antibody Lead Discovery (in Dyax Liege Belgium and Cambridge US) as well as external collaborations and supporting out-licensing of Dyax antibody phage libraries. From the antibody phage libraries he and his team developed at Dyax now 5 antibodies have been FDA&EMA approved. René Hoet is also at the Un. Maastricht, Dept. Pathology guiding researchers to use antibodies to bridge the gap between academic research and pharmaceutical applications (extraordinary Professor Biopharmaceutics from 2012-Dec. 2022), He obtained his PhD at the Un. Nijmegen, the Netherlands on autoantibodies (Prof. W.J. van Venrooij) and performed a post-doctoral study at the Un. Cambridge U.K. with Dr. Prof. G. Winter (noble prize winner 2018). He contributed to over 40 scientific papers and is inventor on over 20 patent /patent applications.
- Human single heavy domain (HCAb) platform & human full IgG (H2L2) platform allow flexibility in design and number of binding modules to select optimal biological and developability properties for multispecifics
- Combination of HCAb and in vivo mammalian CAR Screening Platform generates superior potency CARTs
- Novel ADC platform developed based on TME enzyme cleavable linker & novel payload shows robust potency & safety
- Successful IO Examples will be presented of CAR-Ts & ADCs and multispecifics
