Dr. Molly K. Mulligan is President of BioOrbit Inc., a company using the microgravity environment of space to take life-saving treatments from the hospital setting to the home setting. She’s worked to grow the commercial space economy throughout her career.
Before BioOrbit, she was COO of SpaceMD (part of Redwire) and led business development at Redwire’s In Space Industries. She helped arrange the first pharmaceutical royalty deal between a drug company and an aerospace/biotech firm. Earlier, she led commercialization efforts at Space Commerce Matters and flew consumer products, include Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair and Mattel’s Barbie, to the International Space Station. She also worked with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, which manages the U.S. National Lab on the ISS. Additionally, Dr. Mulligan worked at SpacePharma heading up their hardware team and doing business development work.
Dr. Mulligan did postdoctoral work in biomedical engineering at the Technion (Israel). She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2011) and studied Physics and Astronomy at Smith College (’05).
