Maria Tagliamonte, is the senior researcher of the Innovative Immunological Models at the National Cancer Institute - IRCCS “Pascale ”, Naples – Italy, specializing in tumor immunology. Her research focuses on the identification and characterization of tumor antigens for the development of innovative therapeutic cancer vaccines. She combines immunological, molecular, and translational approaches to investigate anti-tumor T-cell responses and to identify novel targets for effective and broadly applicable immunotherapeutic strategies. Skilled in antigen discovery, immune monitoring, and preclinical evaluation of cancer vaccine candidates, and in the evaluation of immune response of a cancer vaccine in clinical trial. In the last few years, her work is focalized on the investigation of molecular mimicry between tumor-associated antigens and virus- or bacteria-derived antigens, aiming to understand how cross-reactive immune responses can shape anti-tumor immunity. Dr. Tagliamonte has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and she is actively involved in national and international collaborative research projects in the field of cancer vaccines.
