Julia Rakovets is the Business Manager for Research at the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT - Ireland), a global center of excellence headquartered in Dublin. Julia specialises in aligning cutting-edge academic research with industrial application. With a career rooted in the laboratory, Julia’s trajectory began 10 years ago within neurophysiology, later expanding into neuropharmacology and target discovery. This foundational bench science evolved into the commercial sector, where she specialised in novel compound evaluation and CRO operations. At NIBRT, Julia operates at the critical intersection of academia and industry, focusing on identifying high-impact research outputs for building strategic external partnerships and commercialisation. She works closely with the team of Principal Investigators to align research goals with market needs , while securing large-scale funding, including EU Horizon programs. Julia also leads the identification of high-potential startups and academic projects for the CONCEPT initiative, NIBRT’s dedicated facility focused on the advancement of ATMP process development.
