David Maasz is Co-Founder and Chair of BioFund, a mission-driven family office dedicated to curing and preventing cancer through a OneHealth approach. With 30+ years of entrepreneurial experience — including founding one of Central Europe’s first internet companies at age 19 — David brings a builder’s perspective to long-term biotech investment, shaped by the belief that the structural decisions made upstream of the science determine whether good biology ever becomes good medicine. BioFund’s portfolio spans biosimilar oncology biologics, a first-in-class multimodal protein remodeling the tumor microenvironment and making it accessible for different therapies, and the technology platforms and tools needed for both cure & prevention: from protein and cell engineering through human organoid screening to the UFP500° botanical processing platform. BioFund holds active academic and industry partnerships across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
