Ali Murat Saxygili is the Founder & CEO of Zephyr Aquilon, a Lausanne-based deep-tech medtech startup developing a MEMS-based ultrasonic nebulizer platform for pulmonary delivery of injectable-grade biologics. He has approximately 15 years of experience in drug delivery devices and inhalation systems, including senior program leadership roles at PMI (IQOS) and JTI, and precision engineering experience at Delphi Diesel Systems. He holds around 20 patents and holds MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Materials (École des Mines de Douai, France) and Motorsport Engineering (Cranfield University, UK).
Monoclonal antibodies for inflammatory disease — including respiratory conditions like severe asthma — are overwhelmingly delivered by injection, even when the target tissue is the lung itself. This talk introduces the Multiple Fourier Horn Ultrasonic Nebulizer, a MEMS-based, orifice-free atomization platform designed to aerosolize injectable-grade biologics gently enough to preserve antibody structure, enabling direct pulmonary delivery. I'll cover the underlying Faraday-wave atomization physics, why it may be gentler on large, fragile molecules than conventional nebulizers, the case for local pulmonary delivery of anti-inflammatory antibodies (e.g. anti-IgE, anti-TSLP therapies), and the open questions — including circadian-timed dosing — that remain to be answered as the platform moves from device development toward biologic-specific stability data.
