Lorne Mitchell, MD, Objective Designers

Strategic business development and technology transformation expert with over 45 years of experience spanning military leadership, telecommunications, and consulting.  As Founder / Managing Director of Objective Designers since 2008, I lead strategic marketing and consulting initiatives using our proprietary Innovation Flower™ Method to help clients model, test, and prototype business and market-entry strategies through 12-week experimentation cycles. My career journey has included key leadership roles at IBM iX, PwC, and several telecommunications pioneers (Level 3, KPN, AT&T, Concert Communications, BT), where I've successfully delivered complex operational strategy improvements, enterprise architecture implementations, and multi-million pound change programmes. Aside from founding and managing my own company, Objective Designers, I am an Associate Partner at sString which supports telecoms and technology companies through technology, product and customer migrations.  I also serve as an Advisory Partner at Sand Hill East, leveraging my extensive technology experience to mentor early-stage technology companies through critical development stages. My commitment to service extends beyond the corporate world through extensive volunteering, including:
- My current and most recent role as Vice Chair, Trustee & Mentor at Charity Mentors Kent and Medway,
- Nearly three decades with The HALO Trust (former Trustee and Founding President of the HALO Trust Association),
- Nine years as Co-Chair of the BCS Enterprise Architecture Specialist Group
- Former Trustee for PTSD Resolution - a military mental health charity.
- Leader of a successful decade-long community initiative to bring fibre broadband to a rural Parish in Kent. My expertise spans business transformation, strategic consulting, programme leadership, and relationship building at board level.
