Dr Paul Kelly, Postdoctoral Researcher, National Institute For Cellular Biotechnology

I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute for Cellular Biotechnology in Dublin City University for the last 2 years upon completing my PhD. I work in the area of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell engineering for their improved bioprocessing performance. A main focus of my research has been microRNA manipulation in CHO cells to improve various CHO cell phenotypes. More recently, I'm involved in exploring the potential risks from contaminating leachables from single-use disposable plastic bioreactors in addition to various next-generation sequencing projects.
