Gerald Birringer is a Bioinformatics IT Architect with over 20 years of experience designing, building, and operating Research IT and Scientific Computing systems at Boehringer Ingelheim. He has driven multiple waves of technological innovation in genomics, bioinformatics, and computational research, enabling scientists to accelerate discovery through advanced data and compute platforms. In his current role, he focuses on Computational Innovation, including the development of a Trusted Research Environment (TRE) that will empower researchers to derive insights from clinical data and seamlessly connect pre‑clinical, clinical, and biobank datasets. His work supports scalable, translational research and the integration of emerging technologies into scientific workflows.
