Dr Amrik Mahal BEM is the Chief Operating Officer for Life Sciences at Amino Data and a senior leader at the intersection of life sciences, technology and pharmaceutical R&D.
Previously, he was AstraZeneca’s Global Head of Information Technology for Research and Head of IT for Sweden, shaping technology strategy and leading the delivery of projects, services and capabilities for R&D.
He was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Honours List for services to the UK’s COVID-19 response and to science.
Drawing on experience across Glaxo Wellcome, Oxford Asymmetry, Evotec and academia, he builds diverse, high-performing teams, delivers strategic initiatives and scales innovation to address unmet patient needs.
Amrik is a respected international speaker and chaired the PRISME Board, the pharmaceutical industry’s R&D IT leadership group. He also served on the board of the Pistoia Alliance, supporting collaboration and innovation across the biopharmaceutical ecosystem.
