Jeremy Cohen is a Program Director in the Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate (CCSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He is in his 15th year at ORNL managing programs that range in scope from healthcare to national defense.
Jeremy was the Director of the Center for Infrastructure Security Analysis (CISA) for his first five years at ORNL. CISA supports the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Infrastructure Protection (OIP) whose mission is to assess and reduce vulnerabilities of the Nation’s various infrastructure assets to terrorism and implement plans and programs that facilitate recovery from all hazards.
Jeremy was the Program Manager for a three-year effort with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). During this time, Jeremy led a variety of efforts including system readiness evaluations and recommendations, novel fraud, waste and abuse analytics efforts, and prototype development, transition and deployment.
Jeremy is currently serving as the Program Director for programs with the US Veterans Administration, US Air force, and US Navy. Each of these programs focus on leveraging ORNL subject matter expertise in advanced analytics and high-performance computing to address near term needs as well as to anticipate and plan for long-term, high-impact areas of interest.
Jeremy’s experience within information science and management spans more than 20 years and includes a diverse set of proficiencies and competencies. His program management success has demonstrated that he is a most capable leader who can motivate team members toward delivery of “the product” on time and within budget. Prior to joining ORNL Jeremy served as a business intelligence center manager, program manager/analyst, and team lead/analyst. He has a master’s degree in computer information systems and an undergraduate degree in finance.
