Aart Slagt, EVP Information Services and CIO, KLM

Aart has a Masters’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Twente University and Postgraduate in Logistics control systems at Eindhoven University of Technology. During the years he has grown to become an experienced leader with almost 25 years of airline industry experience. In his first 10 years at KLM, Aart has held several positions in KLM Operations, such as building optimizers at KLM’s OCC, head of cockpit crew planning. Head of Air Traffic Management and VP Fleet Services. In 2009 Aart changed his course towards HR, becoming the CHRO in the timeframe 2013- 2021 (including, the for KLM, very difficult COVID period).  Being the CIO of KLM since 2021, Aart is on a mission to make KLM the most Tech & Data airline. To be able to get there, still a lot of legacy systems need to be replaced, all applications will be move to the cloud coming years and data must be made readily available throughout the company.
