Edward Kwee develops measurement solutions and standards to advance the evaluation of gene delivery systems. His work focuses on improving the reproducibility of cell-based assays and developing novel light-scattering methods to characterize gene delivery particles. By correlating particle characteristics with functional performance, he aims to enhance the reliability of gene therapy platforms. Additionally, he coordinates gene delivery initiatives within the Biosystems and Biomaterials Division and the NIST Flow Cytometry Standards Consortium. Edward serves as the Project Lead for multiple international standards within ISO/TC 276. He leads the U.S. Technical Advisory Group for the Gene Delivery Systems working group and co-leads Working Group 4 of the NIST Flow Cytometry Standards Consortium. In these roles, he directs interlaboratory studies on physical titer and oversees the development of standardized protocols to support the global biotechnology industry.
