Darren Avery, Stem.T4L Learning Leader, NSW Department of Education

Darren Avery is a passionate, innovative distinguished digital educator who connects with his students via hybrid models of learning. As a former teacher from Gymea Bay PS, an Apple Distinguished school, Darren has worked closely with students from different learning experiences and backgrounds and enriched their learning experience so they can reach their full learning potential.
Darren was brought in as part of a small team in response to the COVID-19 lockdowns to support Remote Learning from Home.  He built and delivered a series of professional learning workshops to more than 65,000 public school teachers on how to use digital technologies as they pivoted from face-to-face teaching in the classroom to remote learning.
Since this time, Darren has been a part of the COVID Intensive Learning Support Program working with students across NSW to ensure all students can reach their full learning potential.
