Richard is an experienced railway engineer with 30 years of experience in delivering maintenance, engineering, and asset management on high-speed and conventional railways. He currently leads on operational and technical direction on the UK’s only high-speed railway, providing client leadership to the London St Pancras Highspeed supply chain, embracing technology and innovation to improve productivity and ensuring that London St Pancras Highspeed continues to deliver an exceptional asset for its customers and stakeholders. Sustainability and encouraging modal shift to rail is a passion and has become an integral part of the London St Pancras Highspeed business. Richard leads on the physical delivery of the growth strategy, making sure the infrastructure can deliver the capacity when it is needed, be it in the stations or through the railway renewals and enhancement programmes. Richard is a Signalling Engineer by training and started his career as a signalling maintenance technician with Eurotunnel and has carried out many roles within the railway before becoming Chief Operating Officer for London St Pancras Highspeed. He loves playing and listening to music and enjoys cycling around his home in Kent as well as adventures further afield.
