Dr. Tran Huynh Ngoc is currently serving as a Senior Power Systems Specialist at Amperes (part of Alluvium), where he is responsible for leading feasibility assessments and power system modelling analysis. He has worked in various areas related to power grids and renewable energy in both academic and industrial environments in Vietnam and Japan. He also has experience in consulting services for project design and power system analysis of more than 20 renewable energy projects connected to the U.S. grid, serving as a Technical Director and Senior Power Systems Engineer. Before joining Amperes, he worked at EVNPECC2 (Power Engineering Consulting Company 2) as Deputy Director of the Center for Training, Research & Development, which was responsible for power technology and energy policy research programs within PECC2.
Dr. Ngoc is an active member of IEEE, the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA), and the IEEE Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Tokyo in Japan, awarded in 2003, 2010, and 2015, respectively.
