Ceejay Hernandez | Head of Sustainability

Ceejay has been working within the ESG and sustainability space for over 6 years. He currently works at HSBC Philippines as the country Corporate Sustainability lead. The role entails him to work across key departments and help strategize and implement the sustainability and climate strategy. Closely working with the business, Ceejay provides support and insight to enable sustainable finance strategies as well as provide feedback in partnership with Risk and Compliance to ongoing policy developments and external engagements with key stakeholders in relation to sustainability. He also works on creating partnerships and collaborations to push forward HSBC’s key sustainability priorities in the Philippines.

Prior to the role, he works as one of the head for S&P Global Philippines’ Sustainable1 ESG research teams – focusing on developing ESG methodology, increasing regional participation and ensuring quality of data analysis underpinning the S&P ESG scores.

Outside of HSBC, Ceejay works as an independent consultant to UNDP through the WeSolve Foundation, recently leading the work on the development the Philippines SDG Investment Mapping Platform. He also contributed on studies regarding Biodiversity Finance development, Nature-based solution and carbon policies.
