Giorgio Nanni coordinates the Energy and Environment Office of Legacoop, the oldest Italian cooperative organization. He has a Bachelor in Statistical Sciences and a Post-graduate Diploma in Cooperative Enterprises: Economy, Law & Management. In the past, he managed many different energy and environment projects. He was a board member of Legambiente Lazio, an important Italian environment association; a founding member of a car-sharing company; the CEO of a training cooperative; a member of the scientific committees of Ecomondo and Key Energy (the largest Italian fairs on sustainability), NEXT (Nuova economia per tutti - a network of Italian associations for economic, environment and social sustainability); manager of Cooperambiente, Legacoop’s most important sustainability project. Currently, he oversees Legacoop’s sectoral association policies on energy issues, develops partnerships, participates in institutional issues to define energy policies, and promotes the cooperative energy supply chain and innovative models for renewable energy production and consumption. He manages the development of Respira, a cooperative hub, to promote Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). He writes articles and holds lessons on RECs, and collaborative energy solutions.
