Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Evvy Kartini is a leading scientist and pioneer in battery research, internationally recognised for her expertise in materials science, neutron scattering, and lithium-ion battery technology. As Founder of the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) and Research Professor at the Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN), she has been instrumental in advancing Indonesia’s position as a key player in the global battery industry. Her leadership has positioned NBRI as a hub for innovation and global collaboration, bridging academia, industry, and government. Under her guidance, NBRI successfully hosted the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2023, 2024, and most recently IBS 2025, which concluded with resounding success. The 2025 summit not only convened global leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders across the entire battery value chain, but also fostered breakthrough discussions on renewable energy, electric vehicles, policy diplomacy, and human capital development—further cementing NBRI’s role as a driving force in shaping the future of sustainable energy.
