I'm a community advocate of Electric Vehicles and Solar. In 2019, I purchased a Hyundai Kona Electric and have been charging it at home for four years using excess rooftop solar production. I host monthly hall meetings, cruises, car park catch ups and attend EV events to build the Queensland EV community. I’ve done at least a hundred test drives with friends, family, and some strangers, and spoken to thousands of people interested in EVs, helping to provide unbiased and honest advice to their questions.

Recently, with the help from some EV friends, I repurposed degraded Nissan Leaf battery cells and second-hand solar panels to move away from my reliance on a petrol generator on an off-grid property I own. This posed challenging technical issues to overcome. After a few months of research and development, I now have a solar powered 10kWh battery storage for electricity.
