Dr Heather Holmes-Ross | Mayor

Dr Heather Holmes-Ross is serving her second term as Mayor of The City of Mitcham. A former research scientist in molecular dynamics at Flinders Uni, she and her husband currently operate “The Lost Dice” board game cafe in Adelaide’s CBD, which services a fabulously diverse community. Heather is passionate about building strong, sustainable, inclusive communities, which lead her to local government.  She has lead her council in making sector leading decisions, including the creation of a citywide solar and virtual power plant scheme which reduces emissions, stabilises the grid and generates income for residents.

Heather's influence extends beyond Mitcham, representing the city as a director on the board of East Waste, member of the Murray Darling Association and SA Local Government Research and Development Grants Committee, chair of the Greater Adelaide Regional Organisation of Councils (GAROC) Committee and board member of the Local Government Association SA and Australia Day Council of SA.
