Dr. Emi Gui is an energy transition and decentralized energy system expert, and an adjunct associate professor at Monash University (Malaysia), and a member of Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition (CEET) – an independent advisory body to the UN Secretary-General to achieve net zero goals by mid-century. Her research and advisory work include system-level transformative solutions and knowledge collaboration to strengthen the links between energy and climate, such as in foresighting and planning for net zero energy systems, climate-resilient infrastructure, energy system connectivity, distributed and decentralised energy infrastructure, community energy, and consumer-centric service innovations in the utility sector. Dr. Emi has 20 years’ experience in energy consulting and research, and previously worked as an energy market specialist in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe, spending time at the Australian Energy Market Operator, consultancies, utilities and energy trading houses. Emi has a PhD in energy policy and economics from the University of New South Wales. She also holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School in Australia and a Master of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
