Dean Baker is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of success delivering commercial growth, building high-performing sales teams, and leading strategic transformation across the IT and telecommunications industry. Based in Johannesburg, he leads Infobip’s Enterprise sales, revenue, and growth strategy across Southern Africa, where he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s regional presence and accelerating business momentum since joining in 2021. Before joining Infobip, Dean served as Strategic Services & Cloud Sales Manager at Avaya, where he was instrumental in growing the services and cloud business across the region. Throughout his career, he has consistently driven strong business outcomes by identifying new market opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and translating complex technology capabilities into measurable commercial success. Dean has held senior leadership and executive roles at global organisations including Avaya, British Telecom (BT), Orange Business Services, and Unisys. He is recognised for his ability to deliver sustainable revenue growth, lead consultative sales strategies, and build and inspire sales, pre-sales, and partner teams to outperform in competitive markets. His combination of deep technical grounding in electronics engineering and programming, together with sharp commercial acumen, gives him a distinctive ability to bridge technology and business value, from device to cloud. Outside of work, Dean is a dedicated family man with a passion for cooking, music, and sport. He also has a deep appreciation for nature, wildlife, and the outdoors, often combining his love of off-road travel and adventure with a fine glass of red.
