Chris Nevers is a seasoned professional with decades of experience in public policy and government relations within the automotive and transportation industry. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Public Policy at Rivian, Chris plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's advocacy strategies and policy initiatives to drive innovation and sustainable mobility solutions. Prior to his 5 years at Rivian, Chris’ experiences include Vice President of Energy and Environment for the Alliance for Automotive Innovation (Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers), EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality, and Chrysler. In Chris’ career he has both developed and led industry coalitions; led an OEM Domestic Affairs Team; helped launch a startup; developed, tested, calibrated, and certified vehicles (from both the manufacturer and government side); and led a plant vehicle engineering team, . Chris is also a founding Board Member of ZETA, on CALSTART’s Board, and a member of the Michigan Council on Future Mobility and Electrification. Chris has a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toledo and a Master of Automotive Engineering from the University of Michigan.
