Rob Brand is a Senior Policy Officer in the Directorate for Digital Economy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In line with his active involvement in realising the eIDAS regulation from the start in 2014, he holds responsibility for the Dutch policy on the eIDAS Trust Services. Besides representing the Dutch Government in the EWC and Potential consortia, Rob is anticipated to become the coordinator of the WE BUILD consortium. This consortium, building an ecosystem for EUDI Wallets, will start work in September 2025 and will focus on use cases for businesses and payments. Furthermore, Rob is a member of the EDICG Working Group and of the Government Consultative Committee of the ITU OpenWallet Forum. Built upon his past achievement of implementing the Identity Scheme for e-recognition, which is one of the few current notified schemes for Legal Person Identity in the EU, he is involved in business initiatives for sharing data using EUDI Wallets. Rob has a distinguished career on the intersection of policy making, policy deployment, tech and digitization, most notably in the PKI-field.
