Warren Harris, Chief, Identity Intelligence Division (I2D), Department of War

Warren A. Harris serves as the Chief, I2D in the OUSW(I&S). He is responsible for establishing and providing Department of War (DoW) policy, guidance, direction for Identity Intelligence (I2) and Biometrics (BX).
Mr. Harris earned the rank of GG15 in December 2022. He has over 38 years of leadership and expertise in the DoW. As a government civilian, he has over 18 years’ experience in managing DoW units, programs, activities, and providing direction of multi-agency, intelligence operations, with extensive experience in supporting national, operational, and tactical I2 and BX activities and missions, strategic planning, policy formulation, and oversight. Mr. Harris retired from the United States Army in 2008 as a First Sergeant after 21 years of honorable military service. His civilian career assignments in the DoW include serving as a Joint Staff Senior Intelligence Integrator, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Strategy/Plans/Policy/Exploitation Branch Chief, and Combatant Command I2/BX Program Manager; responsible for coordinating intelligence activities across Joint Forces to enable globally integrated operations. Mr. Harris has deployed four times in support of military combat operations. He served in Operations Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from American Military University and an Associate of Liberal Arts Degree from Saint Leo University. Mr. Harris’ awards include the Director, National Intelligence, Exceptional Achievement Medal, OUSW Policy Award for Excellence, DIA Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, several additional meritorious achievements, service medals, and unit awards. Mr. Harris was born in Huntington, WV. He and his wife live in Northern Virginia. They have been married for over 35 years, raised two kids, and have four grandkids. Mr. Harris enjoys painting, drawing, listing to music, wood working (fine furniture), home improvement projects, and riding his motorcycle.
