Katy Lloyd is an award-winning communicator with more than two decades of public service in state and local government. She currently serves as a Communications Project Manager at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, where she has worked for 17 years. Katy has played a central role in the development and advancement of Virginia’s Mobile ID initiative. She has been a key contributor to the project for the past three years and was part of the original team that led DMV’s Mobile ID proof of concept in 2016. Prior to joining DMV, she spent eight years in public relations in local government and began her career as a newspaper reporter. A lifelong Virginian, Katy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in broadcasting from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She is also a graduate of DMV’s esteemed Executive Leadership Program. When she’s not cheering on her son’s college baseball team or the VCU Rams basketball team, she is an active volunteer and passionate advocate for dog rescue.
